Guide to visiting Scotland
Looking to escape to the very north? Perhaps it is a summer break or just a chance to explore, either way, here is our mini guide to Scotland with our must-see destinations for you…
Glasgow
Usually the first stop-off point for many heading to Scotland, Glasgow is a city packed with great places to stay, eat, drink and explore. With big city vibes and all the shops you would need, if a city break is for you then we would absolutely recommend it here.
The Isle of Skye
The most picturesque place and not another car in sight for miles. The Isle of Skye is a journey and a half but it is absolutely worth the trip. The Old Man of Storr is a great walk and the fairy pools are must-visit. Make sure you stock up on fuel and snacks when you see facilities though as they do see, to be few and far between.
The Cairngorms
Winding roads and beautiful surroundings, The Cairngorms is a whole experience in itself. There is plenty to stop and see and you can rent bikes to cycle around on too. Do your research beforehand and pick out some places you would look to visit so you have a bit of a plan as it can be quite overwhelming!
Edinburgh
The home of the fringe festival, which is a must-visit if you are planning a trip during that time, but another great city full of life and history. The castle is something to marvel at and there are plenty of hidden pubs and eateries down winding and hidden streets!
Isle of Harris
Known for a stunning beach and for being away fro the hustle and bustle, we love the Isle of Harris. Be prepared for a journey to get there and make sure you take the time to check out the history and views. You can stay here too so that is always an option!
Loch Ness — and the rest!
The most famous loch deserves a mention and it is far bigger than the photos do justice. Either marvel at the beauty or look for Nessie, the choice is yours. There are over 30,000 lochs in Scotland so while it might be a bit of a stretch to try and see them all, they are definitely worth checking out. Pick out a few on your travels and read about their size and history!
There are some of our favourite destinations in Scotland but it is so hard to choose. If you are planning a trip, do some research and check out blogs on different destinations to help you make your decisions. If you are looking for a car to get you there, come and see the team at nova Motor Group, as we have a range of cars to suits an even wider range of needs.
